about

When three ex-Steve & The Jerks, supposedly anonymous and incompetent, join the guitaristic services of Nicus (Warum Joe, Les Terribles, Operation S, currently in Frustration), we can foresee that the new band in question will make sparks fly. Still quite rare on stage, their passages remain nevertheless engraved in many memories. We can mention for example their opening act for Zen Guerrilla during which their sumptuous cover of "Dark White" by Music Machine made more than one jaw drop and more than one hair shiver. And then they trigger hilarity and suggestive wiggles in a regular way during their famous and fantastic Music Club evenings at the Mznestrel, the most bath cellar/club of the french capital. While waiting for their first LP to be released soon on their own label Week End Records, they take the plunge with this first 7" on which we find two stunning tracks. First of all, the hit "(the) future ('s coming tomorrow)" where Manu and Nicus' guitars are in perfect harmony while the bassist Junior stirs up these Buzzcocks/Undertones-like fights with a groove of his own. Laurent has then the free field to arbitrate, with his usual irony, the sonic exchanges of these three smokers while exposing an impeccable drumming. The B side unveils an inspired and catchy cover of Paul Revere & The Raiders' "Down in Amsterdam": here is an ideal sound accompaniment for your raids in the other country of cheese and an inexhaustible source of discussion when you will find yourself inadvertently in good company in a somewhat smoky place....hmm...you need this record!
